Job Description

Senior FPGA Engineer role based in Bloomington, MN (onsite) with a sign-on bonus eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the FPGA development lifecycle including definition, design, verification and documentation
  • Determine architecture, system simulation and detailed design approaches
  • Define module interfaces and all aspects of device design and simulation
  • Evaluate the process flow from high level design through synthesis, place and route, timing and power utilization
  • Create test and simulation plans that establish functional criteria
  • Verify test results and analyze performance
  • Review vendor capabilities, foundry technologies, device libraries and simulation tools as needed
  • Contribute to the generation and maintenance of work products such as plans, specifications and design documentation for internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and present requirements, concepts, designs, decisions and results to management, other organizations, teammates and customers
  • May contribute to technical subcontract management including SOW development, proposal evaluation, source selection, technical oversight and subcontractor work product evaluation
  • Review vendor capability to support product development
  • Apply a strong understanding of defined processes throughout the program lifecycle
  • Participate in improving FPGA organizational processes
  • Support the generation of technical engineering products using appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools
  • Lead research and analysis of data such as customer proposals and manuals to determine feasibility
  • Select components and equipment based on specifications and reliability
  • Contribute to the technical approach on small proposals
  • Provide leadership and direction to junior team members
  • Lead technical tasks for small teams or projects
  • Set technical objectives for assignments and guide successful completion of major programs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related STEM field
  • 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience
  • Agile experience preferred
  • Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance at time of hire
  • Applicants subject to U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility for access to classified information
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of work performed
