Job Description

This Senior Software Engineer role leads the technical strategy, platform architecture, and integrations for the Knowledge Management ecosystem (KC and AskKC), with a clear path to influence how knowledge is delivered across the organization. Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end technical architecture for the Knowledge Management platform ecosystem including KC and AskKC
  • Design and implement a golden copy strategy to create a single source of truth for knowledge articles, enabling reliable knowledge integrations and migrating AskKC away from Snowflake
  • Define and drive the technical roadmap for platform modernization and scalability
  • Design and manage API integrations that deliver contextual knowledge to internal systems
  • Ensure reliable, secure, and well-documented integration patterns across platforms
  • Partner with internal engineering teams to enable seamless knowledge delivery
  • Serve as the technical bridge between Knowledge Management and Data Science on AskKC for AI powered article search summarization
  • Maintain awareness of RAG, document chunking, embeddings, and summarization pipelines to support the data science team
  • Lead architecture discussions without building ML models yourself, focusing on end-to-end system design
  • Automate access management for KC and AskKC, moving away from manual processes
  • Collaborate with identity and security teams to establish RBAC and governance
  • Lead incident resolution across internal teams and perform root cause analysis with preventive measures
  • Communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders during incidents

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software or platform engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a senior role
  • Familiarity with Snowflake in the context of migration or replacement
  • Working knowledge of AI and ML concepts, specifically RAG, document chunking, vector stores, and LLM-based summarization
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
  • Python or a similar scripting language for automation
  • Knowledge of Knowledge-Centered Service (KCS) methodology
  • Experience decommissioning or replacing legacy components
  • Strong experience with AWS services, especially S3 and IAM
  • Proven ability to design and manage API integrations (RESTful APIs, API gateways)
  • Proven track record designing source-of-truth or golden copy architectures and leading data platform migrations
  • Ability to design new system architectures and drive platform migrations
  • Expertise in access management, RBAC, SSO/SAML/OAuth, and moving from manual provisioning to automation
  • Experience with incident management processes and cross-team coordination
  • Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical or business field, or equivalent experience
  • Background in business operations or business IT strategies with the ability to translate client requirements into technical designs
  • Agile engineering practices and a design-thinking mindset, with the ability to collaborate across globally distributed teams
