Senior Software Engineer

GA Telesis, LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, integrate, and support secure enterprise applications that serve MRO, inventory, sales, procurement, finance, logistics, and customer-facing operations. This role combines modern web development with deep Oracle and ERP ownership, including REST API engineering and production-grade database integration, alongside AI-enabled document extraction and workflow automation.

The position is based on-site in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and is intended for an experienced engineer who can lead technical decisions end-to-end, maintain reliable systems in production, and mentor others through structured code reviews and knowledge transfer.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support business-critical applications used across core MRO and enterprise workflows, including customer-facing operations.
• Own the full application lifecycle from requirements through production, backed by clear documentation, robust error handling, and sustainable architecture.
• Build maintainable, reusable user experiences using JavaScript or TypeScript and modern frameworks such as React, with consistent design patterns and documented interfaces.
• Apply front-end best practices including accessibility, responsive design, state management, and performance optimization.
• Develop secure REST APIs and service layers that connect Quantum Control ERP with enterprise platforms including Oracle databases, DocuWare, ILS, Aeroxchange, Smart145 ERP, Salesforce, and other systems.
• Support both read flows and controlled write-back workflows, using authentication, versioning, validation, idempotency, logging, and secure error-handling patterns.
• Create integrations designed for long-term maintainability by reducing one-off connections and building reusable, documented enterprise services.
• Write and optimize SQL and PL/SQL, including packages, procedures, functions, views, and transactional logic supporting application business rules and ERP data integrity.
• Apply Oracle security and operational practices including least-privilege access, schema separation, controlled migrations, index strategy, execution plan analysis, and AWR/ASH performance tuning.
• Administer Oracle Database environments supporting Quantum Control ERP, including instance management, user and schema administration, tablespace and storage management, backup and recovery, patching, and environment management across dev, QA, and production.
• Enhance and support Oracle APEX capabilities such as Dynamic Actions, Interactive Grids, Shared Components, security schemes, ORDS services, and APEX Office Print workflows where APEX is the best fit.
• Build new APEX pages and components that integrate cleanly with the Oracle database layer and enterprise REST services.
• Serve as the technical IT owner of Quantum Control ERP, troubleshooting application-layer errors, coordinating with Quantum support on escalated issues, and owning ERP data integrity.
• Partner with business teams (MRO, FSG, finance, procurement) to translate workflow requirements into database schema changes, stored procedure logic, or configuration updates.
• Maintain documentation covering Oracle DB architecture, schema design, user roles, and ERP configuration for business continuity.
• Build production-grade document extraction and workflow automation using LLM APIs (Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic) with OCR, structured outputs, vector search, RAG pipelines, confidence scoring, human-in-the-loop validation, and auditable exception handling.
• Design extraction pipelines for aviation records such as 8130 airworthiness certificates, repair orders, PO invoices, and parts traceability records, writing structured results into Oracle and Quantum ERP.
• Collaborate with external AI delivery partners (SZNS Solutions) and leverage Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Vertex AI, Cloud Storage) to deliver scalable AI workflows.
• Assist with adoption of Oracle AI Vector Search and Oracle 23ai generative AI features as they mature within the Oracle stack.
• Troubleshoot incidents across application, API, database, and integration layers using root-cause analysis, improved observability, and sustainable fixes.
• Own Oracle DB environments across dev, QA, and production, including patching, upgrades, and environment refreshes in coordination with IT leadership.
• Establish monitoring, alerting, and runbook practices to reduce mean time to detection and resolution.
• Coach junior and mid-level engineers through structured code reviews, pair programming, design sessions, debugging walkthroughs, and knowledge transfer.
• Set and model engineering standards across source control discipline, branching strategy, pull request quality, testing practices, security hygiene, documentation, and deployment controls.
• Lead technical design discussions for new features and integrations, guiding architectural trade-offs and long-term maintainable patterns.
• Foster continuous learning by sharing knowledge of Oracle, AI/LLM, and integration patterns through documentation, internal sessions, and examples.
• Provide honest input to IT leadership on team capability, skill gaps, and development priorities.
• Work with business leaders, end users, vendors, infrastructure, security, and data teams to clarify requirements and deliver measurable outcomes.
• Communicate technical decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders, bridging IT and business without losing accuracy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience, including direct ownership of production applications and complex integrations.
• Proven experience mentoring engineers, leading code reviews, improving engineering practices, and guiding technical design decisions.
• Oracle Database administration experience including instance management, schema and user administration, backup and recovery, tablespace management, performance monitoring, patching, and environment management.
• Ability to analyze and tune Oracle DB performance using AWR/ASH, execution plans, and index strategies.
• Strong skills in SQL and PL/SQL including packages, procedures, functions, cursors, exception handling, and transactional logic.
• Familiarity with Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS) for building and consuming database-native REST APIs.
• Hands-on experience administering or technically owning an enterprise ERP system (Quantum Control, SAP, Oracle EBS, Syspro, or equivalent) from the IT side.
• Ability to troubleshoot ERP application errors, manage configuration, and liaise with ERP vendors on escalated technical issues.
• Experience translating business workflow requirements into ERP configuration changes, database schema updates, or stored procedure logic.
• Strong JavaScript or TypeScript skills and production experience with a modern web framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs with authentication, validation, versioning, error handling, logging, idempotency, and secure write-back patterns.
• Experience with Git-based delivery, peer review, automated testing, and controlled promotion across development, QA, and production.
• Proven ability to mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, technical coaching, pair programming, and structured knowledge sharing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience setting or contributing to engineering standards for code quality, documentation, testing, and deployment workflows.
• Relevant professional certification is preferred or expected within the first 12 months, based on assigned responsibilities.

• Knowledge of aviation/aerospace/MRO domain, supply chain, traceability, quality, and regulated-data environments, including familiarity with airworthiness documentation such as 8130 forms, repair orders, and PMA records.
• Awareness of ITAR, CMMC, NIST 800-171, and auditability requirements and data-handling controls in a defense or aerospace supplier context.
• Experience modernizing legacy applications or consolidating fragmented application and API patterns into reusable enterprise services.
• Prior experience in a tech lead, senior engineer, or informal team lead capacity, owning quality standards, driving engineering practice improvement, and growing junior engineers.
