Software Engineer
Job Description
An Orlando based contract software engineering role offers the chance to shape HR data integrations across internal and external systems, with a long-term engagement that blends on-site collaboration four days a week and a remote Friday. You’ll work within Software Resources, Inc. to design, develop, and maintain solutions that connect diverse subscribing systems using a range of web services and modern development practices.
Overview
This position is located in Orlando, FL with a hybrid work model. It centers on building and integrating HR data workflows, collaborating across teams to deliver critical applications on a long-term contract schedule.
Responsibilities
- Read and analyze requirements, design and implement integration applications, and test and debug HR data exchange solutions between internal and external systems
- Develop applications using Web Services methodologies such as XML, XSLT, JSON, XPath, and related technologies
- Create intuitive user interfaces with scripting languages and modern front-end frameworks and libraries
- Develop and maintain server-side code and APIs
- Manage HR data databases across the technology landscape for multiple subscribing systems
- Contribute to project and DevOps delivery from requirements gathering through deployment
- Lead business and stakeholder teams to translate requirements into technical solutions aligned with best practices
- Conduct fit-gap analyses to identify automation opportunities and streamline processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including third-party vendors, enterprise applications and infrastructure groups
- Mentor junior team members to ensure timely and quality deliverables
- Analyze data points to influence key decisions and project outcomes
- Foster client and peer relationships, partnering with other teams to deliver mission-critical applications
- Direct support teams to troubleshoot incidents, perform root-cause analysis and implement solutions
- Contribute to impact analyses during application release cycles
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for integrations and applications, with versioning and archival records
Requirements
- At least five years of hands-on software development experience
- A minimum of five years configuring systems
- Five or more years with technologies such as OData, REST, SOAP, FTP/SFTP, JDBC, CSV, XML, JSON, XSL, and encryption standards like PGP and x509
- Five-plus years building front-end experiences with JavaScript, CSS3 and HTML5, using React Js, Angular, and jQuery
- At least five years working with server-side languages such as .NET, Java, Ruby and Python
- A minimum of three years of API development using web services and SOA methodologies
- Three or more years with SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, MySQL and caching (server, browser, CDN, query, in-memory like Redis/Memcached)
- Experience across the full testing lifecycle including Unit, UAT, Regression, and Defect Remediation
- Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall development lifecycles
- Knowledge of Scrum, Kanban or similar SDLC frameworks
- Expertise in secure software development and secure coding practices
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
- Ability to act as a liaison between business and technology teams
- Commitment to staying current with new technologies and sharing knowledge with the team
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and results-driven mindset with innovative thinking
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to engage stakeholders at multiple levels
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a matrix organization

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
