- Interface with and control additive manufacturing hardware, including components such as lasers, motion controllers, motors, sensors, and drives.
- Analyze requirements across line of business, use case, and technical perspectives to build an integrated understanding of the additive manufacturing process.
- Create specifications and determine operational feasibility within existing specifications.
- Evaluate design feasibility based on time and cost constraints.
- Design, develop, and modify software systems to provide predictable outcomes, ensuring designs always account for operator safety.
- Write well-designed, testable, efficient code aligned with SOLID principles.
- Modify existing software to correct errors, support new hardware, or improve performance.
- Develop and carry out software verification plans and quality assurance procedures, including regression tests, code reviews, and design reviews.
- Demonstrate solutions meet requirements through documentation, including flowcharts, layouts, and diagrams, along with code comments and annotations and maintainable code.
- Perform full lifecycle software development as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Improve operations through systems analysis and recommendations related to policies and procedures.
- Coordinate software system installation, integrating software components into a fully functional software system.
- Monitor equipment function to ensure specifications are met.
- Write operating manuals or communicate effectively with the manual writer.
- Obtain and license software by gathering required vendor information, recommending purchases, testing and approving products.
- Assist with technical specifications for computer related purchases.
- Evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions to improve security and efficiency of company operations.
- Maintain and expand job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining professional networks, and engaging in professional organizations.
- Protect operations by keeping information confidential, recognizing access to industrial and trade secrets and the need to safeguard intellectual property.
- Train users to operate new or modified equipment.
- Train employees on third-party and internal software applications.
- Assist with the design and implementation of information system solutions for tracking employee time, material, accounting, and other information resources.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, mathematics, or information science.
