Software Engineer/Developer II

Onsite in Fort Wayne, IN supporting aerospace and defense software development at Raytheon. You will work within integrated, cross-discipline product teams using agile methods to develop, test, and integrate complex software and systems solutions. This role also includes a defined path to employment eligibility through a DoD Secret security clearance requirement.

What you’ll do

• Collaborate with cross-discipline, integrated product teams using agile software development to develop, test, and integrate complex software and systems solutions for aerospace and defense applications
• Partner with Systems and Integration Test Engineers to analyze, implement, and test system capabilities

Core responsibilities

• Use agile software development techniques and resources to support the full cycle of software and systems development
• Develop and integrate complex solutions aligned to aerospace and defense application needs
• Work alongside testing engineers to support system analysis, implementation, and validation

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or similar
• Minimum 2+ years of professional experience in software development, integration, and/or test using C++, Java, Ada or similar object-oriented languages
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required since only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

• Status: Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Tools and technologies you may work with

Experience and familiarity with technologies including C++, Java, Ada, Azure, Git, Atlassian Suite, Eclipse, Ansible, Gitlab, Jenkins, GitHub, and Linux, along with real-time and system software such as VxWorks and INTEGRITY/RTOS. The role may also involve working with Generative AI, Machine Learning, Red Hat, and agile delivery approaches such as Scrum, Scrum @ Scale, and SAFe.

Location and compensation

• Location: Fort Wayne, IN, onsite (US-IN-FT WAYNE-150A ~ 1010 Production Rd ~ BLDG 150A)
• Salary range: USD 68,900 - 131,100 per year
• Incentive compensation: Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on level and coverage; payments are not guaranteed and depend on factors including individual and business unit performance and company performance.
