Software Engineer (Staff Level)

Join Oceus Networks LLC to help operate, maintain, and improve end-to-end software solutions, systems, and products. This onsite role in The Colony, TX supports real customer and lab environments, with a focus on troubleshooting, scalable engineering practices, and collaborative delivery. What you’ll do

• Collaborate with a team designing and developing complex software components and systems.
• Coordinate with product management, QA, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure deliverables align with business goals and customer needs.
• Investigate and support challenging software and integration issues, working cross-functionally to drive efficient resolution.
• Apply established best practices to meet scalability, performance, and security requirements.
• Participate in solution planning, including design discussions, requirements refinement, technical scoping, prototype development, risk identification, and collaborative problem solving.
• Load, configure, integrate, verify, and troubleshoot solutions in a lab environment or on a customer site.
• Maintain a continuous learning mindset to stay current on emerging tools, technologies, frameworks, and methodologies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What you bring

• Current secret security clearance (or ability to obtain a clearance)
• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science/Telecommunications or related field
• Current state-issued driver’s license
• Current U.S. passport
• Local to The Colony, TX to support onsite work
• Expected travel: 5–10%

Tech-functional competency (2-4 years related experience) includes developing and optimizing production-grade applications in modern languages (Go, Rust, Java, C++, or Python), applying software architecture and distributed systems design, and working across code, infrastructure, networking, and security boundaries. You’ll also use knowledge of secure system design principles, threat modeling, and compliance-oriented engineering approaches, with the ability to work independently and learn quickly in a team environment. Strong written and verbal English communication skills are required.

Preferred: current U.S. Government Security Clearance is preferred, and working knowledge of wireless technologies such as LTE and GSM is a plus.
