Special Missions UI/UX Engineer
Job Description
Context: Special Missions UI/UX Engineer role in Fayetteville, NC (onsite) with Booz Allen Hamilton.
Responsibilities
- Design and integrate user centered experiences for data science, data engineering, and software applications.
- Engage across the full digital design lifecycle, including user research, information architecture, wireframes, rapid prototyping, interface design, and front end development.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams—engineers, analysts, and mission stakeholders—to ensure seamless UI and backend integration.
- Support national security decision makers at the frontline to help clients fulfil mission objectives.
Requirements
- Minimum five years of UI/UX design, integration, and optimization for data science, data engineering, and software solutions.
- Proven experience designing interfaces, workflows, and visualizations for data rich or operational systems.
- Experience integrating systems using JSON, REST, and XML protocols.
- Proficiency with modern UI/UX design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
- Familiarity with DoW operation centers workflows and processes.
- Ability to collaborate with operations customers and technical experts to optimize cross functional UX solutions.
- TS/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree.

The Opportunity
You will design and integrate intuitive user experiences for complex data science, data engineering, and software solutions, participating in the full spectrum of the digital creative process from research to front end development. Collaboration with engineers, analysts, and mission stakeholders will ensure cohesive, cross functional solutions that support national security decision makers at the spearhead of operations.
Nice If You Have
- Experience with Palantir Foundry integration or similar data platforms.
- Experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure.
- Experience using or migrating CI/CD pipelines or tools, including GitLab.
- Experience contributing to design systems and reusable UI components.
- Frontend development experience with React, JavaScript, or TypeScript based frameworks.
- Excellent emotional intelligence and communication skills to engage with senior stakeholders.
- Master’s degree.
Clearance
TS/SCI clearance is required. Applicants selected will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Compensation
Salary is determined by location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, along with contract affordability and organizational needs. The projected annual range is 99,000 to 225,000 USD. This posting closes within 90 days of the posting date.

Work Model
- Onsite: work primarily at Booz Allen or at a client facility with in person collaboration as required.
