Job Description
Senior Electrical Engineer role at SCRAM Systems in Denver, CO (onsite), offering USD 130,000–170,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead both new designs and sustaining engineering to boost performance and reliability of wearable electronics; evaluate substitutes for obsolete or end-of-life components.
- Lead cross-functional failure analyses to identify root causes of production and field failures.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and manufacturing teams to address issues, implement design changes, and resolve technical challenges.
- Develop and execute electrical verification test plans to validate designs, uncover issues, and ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications.
- Analyze test data, troubleshoot electrical issues, and propose design improvements and optimization strategies.
- Create and maintain documentation including test procedures, reports, and specifications to support product development and manufacturing processes.
Requirements
- Experience leading and participating in new designs and sustaining efforts to improve product performance and reliability.
- Cross-functional failure analysis investigations to determine root causes of production and field failures.
- Collaboration with hardware, software, and manufacturing to address product issues, implement design changes, and resolve technical challenges.
- Development and execution of electrical verification test plans to validate designs and ensure standards compliance.
- Analysis of test results and troubleshooting of electrical issues with design improvement recommendations.
- Documentation creation including test procedures, reports, and specifications.
- Hands-on sustaining engineering experience including schematic capture and PCB layout.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, circuit design, and PCB layout.
- Experience with embedded microcontrollers (MSP430, ARM7, STM32); familiarity with IAR and KEIL environments is a plus.
- Proficiency with Altium Enterprise for schematic capture and PCB layout, and with SPICE-based simulation tools.
- C and assembly language programming.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to wearable consumer electronics.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with Arena PLM, Salesforce, or JD Edwards is a plus.
