Sr. Software Engineer (Apache, Python, Trino, Kubernetes)

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems, including processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, handling extremely large data sets, real time systems, and business management information systems, aligned to documented requirements.
• Work independently or as part of a team to deliver reliable software components.
• Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements and document test results.
• Resolve software problem reports and drive issue resolution.
• Apply software development and design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
• Provide input on system design, including hardware/software trade offs, software reuse, and use of COTS/GOTS in place of new development; synthesize requirements from system level to individual components.
• Analyze user requirements to derive design and performance requirements, debug existing software, fix defects, and offer recommendations to improve documentation and development process standards.

Requirements

• Fourteen (14) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university; four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
