Job Description

This on-site Staff Engineer role at Wentworth Partners & Associates, Inc. centers on structural design leadership for projects across New England and supports the firm’s growth. The position offers a competitive salary range of $64,000 to $76,000 per year, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, paid time off, professional development assistance, a SEP retirement plan, free parking, and a retirement plan.

The work is based on-site in Amesbury, MA at 110 Haverhill Road, Building B, Suite 203. Typical schedule runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with remote work negotiable after six months of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering research, analysis, and design for structural projects across New England.
  • Collaborate with private developers on new designs or renovations using steel, wood, masonry, and concrete.
  • Conduct structural observations of residential and commercial properties to identify deficiencies.
  • Represent the firm at design review meetings with clients.
  • Engage with professional and technical staff to meet client deadlines and deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (required).
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE) (required).
  • Strong math and physics skills (required).
  • Strong coding skills (required).
  • Strong writing skills to support technical reporting (required).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Docs, especially spreadsheet creation (required).
  • Ability to work independently (required).
  • Responsible and ethical decision-making regarding client interaction and conduct (required).
  • Preparation of construction drawings and specifications (required).
  • Excellent time management and organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects on time and within budget using critical path problem solving (required).
  • Follows proper procedures and maintains cordial relationships with co-workers, clients, sub-consultants, contractors, etc. (required).
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and the ability to travel to job sites as required (required).
