Ficcadenti Waggoner and Castle Structural Engineers is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join its Charlotte, North Carolina office. This onsite role centers on creating robust structural solutions for a range of major projects, from commercial developments to campus facilities, while collaborating closely with clients and field teams to ensure sound, practical designs.

Responsibilities

Develop and design significant structures using materials such as concrete, steel, wood, masonry, timber, cold-formed steel, and fiber reinforced polymer.
Advance designs through prefabricated construction methods when appropriate.
Engage with clients to understand needs and communicate technical concepts clearly.
Perform site inspections and coordinate with contractors to verify build accuracy and integrity.
Foster and maintain strong client relationships to support ongoing collaboration.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
Professional Engineer license is preferred but not required.
Proficiency with structural software such as SAP, ETABS, RISA, Enercalc, Bluebeam, and Revit is preferred.
Self-motivated, with the ability to work well in a team.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to develop innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges.

Benefits and Pay

Base salary in the range of $70,000 to $90,000 per year, excluding overtime compensation.
Overtime paid at 1.5 times the base rate.
