Structural Engineer

This role focuses on leading structural evaluation and design work for commercial building-restoration projects. Based in Boston, MA with a hybrid schedule, the Structural Engineer will conduct field investigations, produce stamped deliverables, and support site needs through up to 10% travel.

Location and Work Schedule

Boston, MA (Hybrid)

Full-time role with work that may be performed on-site as needed.

Travel requirement: up to 10%

Work location may include active construction environments, including scaffolding, swing stages, and roofs.

Compensation

$120,000 - $150,000 per year

Potential for an annual performance bonus.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct structural and building-material investigations
• Prepare, sign, and stamp calculations, drawings, details, and reports
• Design shoring, bracing, stabilization, and access-system connections
• Develop practical repair solutions for restoration work
• Collaborate with project managers and field teams
• Review shop drawings, submittals, and material specifications
• Support pre-bid structural reviews

Required Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts PE license
• 5+ years of structural engineering experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering
• Experience with structural analysis/design software and AutoCAD
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 10%
• Ability to access active construction environments including scaffolding, swing stages, and roofs

• Restoration experience
• Revit experience
• Shoring experience
• Forensic investigation experience
