Job Description
Systems Engineer role focused on biological and biomedical instrumentation that connects mechatronic hardware, control software, and scientific needs.
Responsibilities
- Conceptualize mechatronic and robotic system architectures and produce accurate 3D CAD models (using CAD software).
- Design end-to-end embedded systems, including schematic capture, custom PCB layout, and firmware development.
- Develop control algorithms and software using C++, Python, and ROS / ROS2.
- Integrate sensors, actuators, and control components so machines can perceive inputs and execute actions accurately.
- Perform physics simulations and run physical tests to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize performance.
- Troubleshoot system errors, complete routine upgrades, and support continuous improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software with mechanical systems in biological/biomedical instrumentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science; 2-year degrees with exceptional experience will also be considered.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python.
- Hands-on experience with Robot Operating System (ROS / ROS2).
- Strong understanding of microcontrollers, actuators, and sensor integration.
- Solid foundation in kinematics, dynamics, and linear algebra.

Desirable Qualifications
- Proven ability to design embedded systems from scratch across both hardware (circuitry/layout) and firmware (coding).
- Strong mechanical design experience with a preference for SolidWorks.
- Hands-on experience with schematic capture and board layout.
- Experience configuring and tuning motor controllers.
- 2+ years of industry experience developing autonomous systems.
- Knowledge of computer vision frameworks such as OpenCV, machine learning libraries, or simulation tools including Gazebo, Webots, and MATLAB/Simulink.
- Interest and accomplishments in leading small teams.
- Ability to partner with customers to identify needs and develop innovative solutions.

Compensation and Job Details
- Salary: USD 90,000 - 130,000 per year
- Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
- Job type: Full-time, on site
