Technical Support Engineer

Eaton’s ES AMER NAS division is hiring a Remote Technical Support Engineer within the United States, based out of Arden, NC. In this role, you will deliver both pre-sale and post-sale technical support for Eaton Digital Products and Wiring Devices, helping customers resolve issues and understand applications.

Salary for this position is USD 69,000 - 101,000 per year. The role is intended for candidates with at least 1 year of relevant experience and an Associate’s degree from an accredited institution.

What you’ll do

• Provide technical assistance for Eaton’s digital products
• Develop, modify, and troubleshoot digital products
• Support configuration requests, GUI navigation, password issues, alarm management, and basic product functionality
• Identify issues related to software and products and determine the appropriate internal or external support resources
• Handle daily phone, chat, and email activity
• Communicate product value proposition and product line strategies effectively
• Recommend product enhancements based on support findings
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of product support resources
• Participate on teams to improve performance and drive process improvements

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience
• Minimum of 1 year of residential wiring and electricity experience
• Ability to document key learnings into Knowledgebase articles and references for internal and external audiences
• Hardware troubleshooting skills, including basic understanding of electricity and residential wiring
• Troubleshooting skills for web browsers and mobile apps
• Ability to use development tools to determine server issues or client issues
• Communication skills
• Self-management skills
• Customer service skills
• Ability to work effectively with people across multiple functions
• Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Exceptional listening skills and self-motivation

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
• 2 years’ experience in technical support, software, or IT
