Android Software Engineer

Johnson Health Tech North America Inc is seeking an Android Software Engineer to contribute to fitness console software development alongside global R&D teams. This onsite role in Cottage Grove, WI focuses on defining requirements, elevating software quality, and onboarding new engineers, while leading by example to resolve engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

• Fosters a constructive, engaging, and inclusive team culture
• Participates in sprint ceremonies to empower the software team to contribute to the development process
• Understands and helps improve Johnson Development Processes
• Coaches others to help them understand these processes
• Promotes quality software development practices, documentation, and testing within the team
• Leads individual development initiatives as needed

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other Science / Technical Engineering field
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional software development experience
• 3-5 years of Native Android development using Java or Kotlin
• 5 years of object-oriented programming in languages such as C++, C#, or Java
• 4 years of UI-based application development
• 2 years with built-in and integration unit testing
• 3 years writing or editing technical documentation
• 3 years sustaining or maintaining projects
• Experience in project architecture
• Willingness to travel internationally and domestically
• Ability to communicate with overseas teams during non-business hours
• Strong ability to work with diverse groups and individuals
• Ability to mentor junior engineers
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
