Android Software Engineer – Team Lead

Android Software Engineer – Team Lead at Johnson Health Tech North America Inc, onsite in Cottage Grove, WI, coordinating Android software development for fitness consoles and leading a 4-6 person team through the Digital Product Development process.

Responsibilities

• Support the Engineering Manager in attracting and hiring top engineering talent
• Direct the work of engineers under supervision
• Educate staff on product development methodologies
• Collaborate with engineers to meet KPI targets
• Act as the communications lead among global software teams
• Establish consistent task tracking and scheduling for global software teams
• Provide technical leadership across global software teams
• Align software development with overall company needs for new product development
• Partner with software teams to provide two-way support for product development
• Convert marketing requirements into actionable technical tasks for the R&D team
• Lead individual development projects as required

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
• 3 to 5 years of Android development experience
• Proven mentoring or team leadership experience is required
• 7 to 10 years of object oriented programming in C++, C#, or Java
• At least 6 years of UI based application development
• 2 years of experience with built-in and integration unit testing
• 5 years of experience writing or editing technical documentation
• 5 years in project sustaining or maintenance work
• 2 years of project architecture experience in a team environment
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, and to communicate with overseas teams during non-business hours
• Ability to work well with numerous diverse groups and individuals
• Proven ability to lead and inspire a team of engineers
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
