iAccess Technologies delivers products and engineering services for commercial and military aircraft worldwide. We provide a comprehensive range of avionics system solutions including cockpit upgrades, aircraft modernization, custom software development and technical consulting. With more than twenty years in operation, we support the design, development, modification, integration and production of avionics and avionics software for commercial, defense and aerospace industries.

Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic Systems Engineer at Level II to support the C 130 L 100 Avionics Upgrade program. Our headquarters are in Costa Mesa, California, with a branch office in Warner Robins, Georgia. The role is expected to be 100 percent onsite at one of our facilities in California or Georgia.

Responsibilities

  • Review and decompose requirements for hardware and software teams.
  • Develop engineering plans, conduct trade studies, assess configurations, and verify work products for correctness, alignment with design concepts and user standards, and progress against schedules.
  • Coordinate with the Project or Program Manager to ensure issue resolution and user satisfaction; make recommendations for approval of major systems installations when needed.
  • Prepare milestone status reports and deliver presentations on the system concept to colleagues, subordinates, and end user representatives.
  • Lead the engineering team to coordinate requirements with program management, decompose and flow down requirements, schedule and track system development and test activities, and manage system development progress.
  • Oversee the coordination, management and integration of all systems engineering activities; interface with all program functions and teams; access program data, attend reviews, and monitor progress.
  • Define, develop, and manage the overall AMP architecture for hardware and software development, including Crew Station and Cockpit definitions, top level avionics architecture, environmental, lighting, electrical, aero/propulsion analysis, RF interoperability, electrical load, mass properties, system latency, digital bus loading, throughput, power margins, navigation accuracy, algorithm development, aircraft systems safety, airworthiness, human engineering, survivability, system security and accreditation, reliability and maintainability, mass properties and EMI/EMC lightning.
  • Coordinate and integrate with all program teams to ensure successful program execution in these areas.
  • Identify, derive, allocate and manage all program requirements; develop and generate verification and integration test plans for System Integration and System Level Test.
  • Develop and manage the Cross Reference Verification Matrix (CRVM) and Interface Control Document (ICD).
  • Design, develop, build, integrate, test and deliver the System Integration Lab (SIL) and the Simulation Nodes used for OFP software development, CSCI qualification and systems integration.
  • Support other program teams by providing all necessary requirements and verification documentation for Production Operations, Training and Logistics, and Flight Test.
  • Design, develop, test and field new or modified training courseware; plan and develop training material and conduct aircrew and maintenance training.
  • Manage activities related to Configuration and Change Management.
  • Extended hours and weekend work may be required to support critical project and mission milestones.
  • Relocation assistance is not offered as a benefit for this position.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related field.
  • Five years of direct experience in avionics modification or a similar activity.
  • Ability to develop and integrate concepts that involve requirements, design, prototyping, production, testing and logistics support across all life cycle phases of the weapon system, including trade-offs among performance, lifecycle cost, risk, productivity, supportability, testability and other engineering requirements.
  • Ability to review requirements and translate them into technical specifications for equipment, software, facilities, data and personnel.
  • Provide technical direction and guidance to lower level technical personnel as needed.
  • Experience in research, design, development, production, testing and performance assessment of system design, and recommendations to enhance performance and design.
  • Minimum of two years of supervising system design, integration, and/or analytical projects.
  • Experience and skills to perform hardware and software analysis, evaluations, development, integration, implementation and testing; develop standards and guidelines; develop system specifications and interface specifications; and interface with government personnel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ten years of direct experience in a relevant engineering activity.
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in engineering, mathematics or physical sciences with EIT certification preferred.
