Chief Civil Engineer - Senior Staff

This onsite role in Jacksonville, FL combines a competitive annual salary of USD 120,000 to 150,000 with a comprehensive benefits package. The Senior Chief Engineer will oversee complex land development projects, advance technical excellence, and ensure regulatory compliance, while shaping the firm’s engineering capabilities and guiding a capable delivery team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering design and permitting of land development projects from the office.
• Hold licensure as a professional engineer in Florida.
• Direct engineering delivery teams across residential subdivision and commercial site design.
• As the engineer of record, perform technical reviews of plans and calculations and mentor junior staff.
• Oversee project scheduling, resource allocation, and key technical milestones to ensure timely solutions.
• Manage client relationships and project work to deliver high-quality designs and permits.
• Coordinate with design teams to align schedules with client expectations.
• Engage in proposal development and monthly billing responsibilities.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in project scheduling, project management, client management, and business development.
• Proficiency with land development software, including ADICPR and EPA net, or similar pressure pipe modeling tools.
• Strong background in land development engineering for single family, multifamily residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
• Hands-on experience preparing full engineering plans and supporting calculations.
• Experience reviewing plans and calculations prepared by junior engineers and designers.
• Excellent communication skills for technical documentation, client coordination, and staff development.
