Civil Engineer Project Manager

Seasoned Project Manager with a Virginia PE license to lead civil land development initiatives in Fairfax from concept through final approvals, emphasizing site plans in Northern Virginia jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Direct civil land development projects from initial concept through final approval and permitting.
• Serve as the primary liaison for clients, municipalities, and review agencies.
• Oversee and review site plan preparation for residential, commercial, and industrial developments.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary internal project teams to ensure cohesive progress.
• Ensure quality control of engineering plans prior to submission.
• Develop and review grading, stormwater management, utility, roadway, and ADA-compliant designs.
• Navigate Northern Virginia entitlement, zoning, bonding, and permitting processes.
• Support proposal development, project scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.
• Participate in client meetings, agency meetings, and occasional evening public hearings.

Requirements

• Active Virginia Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 8 to 12 years of civil land development experience.
• Proven ability to prepare and manage site plans within Northern Virginia jurisdictions.
• Strong project management, coordination, and client communication skills.
• Solid understanding of local regulations and entitlement processes.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Experience with HEC-RAS, StormCAD, WaterCAD or comparable engineering software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Commitment to mentoring junior staff and fostering team development.
