Project Manager (Mechanical, Structural, or Electrical Engineer's License Required

The Project Manager will lead multidisciplinary architectural and engineering projects at S&B Christ Consulting, LLC, guiding efforts from planning and design through completion. This role manages scope, schedule, budget, technical quality, and client coordination, with primary technical oversight aligned to the candidate’s licensed discipline.

Project Scope and Delivery

• Manage A/E projects from initiation through completion, covering project scope, schedule, budget, deliverables, staffing requirements, technical coordination, and overall project performance.
• Coordinate the efforts of mechanical, electrical, structural, civil, architectural, and other technical disciplines to produce integrated and complete design solutions.
• Provide technical oversight and engineering guidance based on the licensed discipline, coordinating work completed by other engineering disciplines.
• Oversee the development and review of engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, reports, studies, design packages, and related technical deliverables.
• Ensure deliverables comply with applicable codes, regulations, engineering standards, contractual requirements, and SBCC quality-control procedures.
• Maintain accurate and complete project records, including correspondence, technical documentation, design decisions, schedules, and meeting notes.

Client and Team Leadership

• Act as a primary point of contact for assigned clients, developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Communicate project status, address concerns, manage client expectations, and clearly relay requirements, priorities, responsibilities, deadlines, and technical information.
• Lead internal and external project meetings, design reviews, client presentations, and project coordination meetings.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to engineers, designers, and junior technical staff, supporting technical development, accountability, and knowledge sharing.
• Coordinate staffing and workload needs with engineering and design leadership to ensure appropriate resourcing for established deadlines.
• Support a collaborative work environment aligned with SBCC standards for professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and client service.

Schedule, Budget, and Risk Management

• Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, deliverable dates, and resource requirements.
• Identify schedule risks and implement corrective measures when necessary.
• Monitor project budgets, labor utilization, project costs, and financial performance, identifying budget concerns and coordinating corrective actions.
• Maintain awareness of contractual scope and identify potential work outside established scope; coordinate changes, additional services, and scope modifications as appropriate.
• Proactively identify technical, schedule, budget, contractual, and coordination risks, and develop solutions before issues impact project performance.
• Assist with preparation of project cost estimates and evaluate design decisions for constructability, feasibility, and cost effectiveness.

Additional Project Support

• Participate in site visits, field investigations, facility assessments, and existing-condition evaluations when required to support planning and design.
• Assist with development of project scopes, level-of-effort estimates, fee proposals, schedules, and technical information for proposals and new project opportunities as requested.

Required Qualifications

• Must have a Professional License in Mechanical, Structural, or Electrical Engineering to be considered.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• PE must be in or directly applicable to Mechanical, Electrical, or Structural Engineering.
• Ability to obtain professional engineering registration in additional states through comity/reciprocity as required by project needs.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of progressively responsible engineering experience, including engineering design and project management.
• Demonstrated experience managing A/E design projects, including scope, schedule, budget, technical deliverables, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Experience working directly with clients and managing client expectations.
• Experience reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, technical reports, and other design deliverables.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.

Remote Work Arrangement

• Remote work arrangements may be considered for employees who reside more than 75 miles from an SBCC office, based on position requirements, project needs, and management approval.
• Travel to an SBCC office and/or project site approximately once per month, or more frequently when required by project or client needs.
• Attend in-person meetings, project activities, training, site visits, or other company events when requested.
• Maintain reliable availability and communication during established work hours.
• Meet all performance, productivity, security, and technology requirements applicable to remote employees.
• Travel to an SBCC office or project site is expected and should be anticipated when considering a remote work arrangement.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Primarily performed in a professional office environment, requiring regular use of computers and other standard office equipment.
• Must be able to review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, reports, and other technical documentation.
• Regular interaction with clients, project teams, consultants, and other stakeholders through in-person and virtual meetings.
• Occasional travel and site visits may be required, potentially involving walking through active facilities, construction areas, or outdoor environments with varying terrain and weather conditions.
• Work generally occurs during standard business hours; additional or extended hours may occasionally be necessary to meet project deadlines and client requirements.
