Job Description

CNC Engineering Inc. is seeking a CNC Electrical and Controls Engineer to lead FANUC retrofit projects onsite in Enfield, CT. The role focuses on creating electrical schematics and component designs, developing ladder logic, coordinating system integration, and guiding startup and customer training. The position offers a salary range of USD 100,000 to 140,000 per year and seeks candidates with a background in electrical engineering, with a four-year degree preferred or a two-year degree considered.

Overview

The successful candidate will plan and oversee FANUC CNC retrofit initiatives across grinders, turning centers, and machining centers. This includes drafting new electrical schematics for machines and any needed enclosures or components, powering up and debugging retrofit packages, and delivering hands-on customer training. Retrofit final documentation covering operation, maintenance, materials lists, and drawings will also be produced.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and develop FANUC CNC retrofit solutions for a range of machine tools including grinders, turning centers, and machining centers.
  • Create ladder logic programs for FANUC CNC systems.
  • Draft new electrical schematics for machines and any associated enclosures or components.
  • Power-up and troubleshoot retrofit packages at both in-house facilities and customer sites.
  • Provide hands-on training to customers in a practical environment.
  • Prepare Retrofit Final Documentation detailing system operation, maintenance, material lists, drawings, and related items.
  • Offer responsive customer phone support for retrofit clients.

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in Fanuc PMC or PLC ladder logic understanding and programming.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or other CAD software.
  • FANUC CNC technology experience is a plus.
  • FANUC Robotics experience is a plus.
  • Professionalism and self-motivation are required.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including purchasing, assembly, and installation.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Creative mindset with meticulous attention to process, product, and material design.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25-35% of the time, with additional compensation when travel includes weekends.

Schedule

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
