Communications Systems Engineer – Ship Control
Job Description
Entry-level Communications Systems Engineer in Groton, CT (onsite) to support a multidisciplinary team in developing, designing, maintaining, certifying, and lifecycle-supporting the ship control system for safe operation of US submarines, across disciplines including systems, computer, electrical, and aerospace engineering.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to system and component engineering efforts for conceptualization, development, verification, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of a complex hardware–software ship control system.
- Analyze, refine, and review requirements and verification plans for system, hardware, and software development.
- Assist in developing and evaluating system-level architecture concepts.
- Support software development by managing interface definitions and performing requirements analysis; activities may include code development, code peer review, and functional testing.
- Provide concept-to-production engineering support for various electrical and electronic hardware components, including circuit design, component selection, electronics packaging, procurement, documentation, prototyping, troubleshooting, and qualification.
- Develop test plans and environments, execute tests, and analyze data.
Requirements
- Bachelors of Science degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Physics
- 0-5 years of postgraduate experience
