Job Description

Project Partners is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our onsite team in Santa Ana, CA. This role offers a competitive hourly rate of USD 60 - 85 per hour and is geared toward professionals with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 10 years of experience. The position involves providing technical electrical engineering support for county facilities and landfill sites, coordinating with stakeholders, and assisting with studies, design documents, and construction packages. A California Professional Engineer (PE) license is required for this senior role, along with the ability to work onsite and contribute to reliability across power systems from 12 kV down to 120 V.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical electrical engineering support for county facilities and landfill sites.
  • Support county electrical workload management through field and office engineering support.
  • Perform electrical and process data collection and assist with inspections.
  • Prepare and review technical documents, plans, and specifications.
  • Perform QA/QC of work submitted by design consultants, engineering field staff, and contractors.
  • Assist with preparation of electrical engineering studies, design documents, and construction packages.
  • Support county electrical system reliability through coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform electrical process mapping and regulatory self-assessments.
  • Develop best practices and trainings for landfill staff.
  • Support power systems engineering ranging from 12 kV down to 120 V.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering.
  • Licensed California Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with power systems design, distribution, and protection (12 kV through 120 V).
  • Preferred: Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) experience.
  • Preferred: Process instrumentation and process controls experience.
  • Preferred: Experience with P&ID (piping and instrumentation diagrams) as well as Loop Diagram.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (no sponsorship needed).
  • Valid California Driver’s License and proof of insurance.
