IT Support Engineer

Kukui IT is seeking an IT Support Engineer to deliver on-site installation and day-to-day support for Microsoft-based computers and networks. This part-time position is based in Kahului, HI and includes troubleshooting, maintenance, and user assistance, with potential for near-term growth toward a salary role with benefits.

Work Location and Type

• Location: Kahului, HI (onsite)
• Work type: Part time
• Salary: USD 20 to 25 per hour
• Remote work: Not available (must live in Maui to qualify)

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site installation and support for Microsoft-based computers and networks.
• Research and troubleshoot a range of complex technical issues.
• Perform on-site and off-site software updates and ongoing maintenance of existing systems, including end-user assistance and training.
• Manage and maintain networks, including backups and security updates.
• Occasionally support tablets, iPhones, and other smartphones.
• Maintain system documentation as part of support and maintenance workflows.
• Part-time schedule with potential company growth toward a salary position with benefits in the near future.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Passion for technology.
• Superb problem-solving skills.
• Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license.
• Computer expertise including Windows 10, Windows 11, MS Office, and PC networking plus hardware repair.
• Prior customer service experience.
• Professional appearance and demeanor with strong communication skills.
• Ability to lift 50 pound computers and networking equipment.
• Must pass a general problem-solving and skills assessment test for consideration.

Preferred Certifications

• MCP or CompTIA certifications (plus).
