IT Systems Engineer (Field & Help Desk)
Job Description
TSI Colorado is hiring an IT Systems Engineer (Field & Help Desk) to deliver on-site and remote support while serving as a field technician, onboarding specialist, and senior-level problem solver. The role includes resolving complex technical issues across Windows environments, Microsoft 365, and advanced networking systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects and assist team members with infrastructure deployments.
- Configure and maintain Windows Server, Exchange, and cloud environments using M365 and Google Workspace.
- Manage and troubleshoot firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, and wireless technologies.
- Own backup maintenance and data recovery procedures.
- Maintain accurate client documentation and complete daily time entry.
- Explain complex technical issues in clear language for non-technical clients and provide accurate task time estimates.
Required Qualifications
- Strong fundamentals in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and security concepts including MFA, EDR, and SOC.
- Hands-on experience with Server hardware (including CPU and RAID), network provisioning and installation, and mobile device management for iOS and Android.
- Detail-oriented and solution-focused approach, with the ability to troubleshoot independently before escalating, and willingness to ask for help when needed.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and climb a ladder.
- Must currently reside within the Colorado Springs area with a valid Driver’s License, a clean driving record, and reliable personal transportation for daily client visits.
- Will act as a field technician, onboarding specialist, and high-level troubleshooter, providing both on-site and remote help desk assistance.

Infrastructure and Networking
- VLANs & Routing: Configure and troubleshoot tagged ports and inter-VLAN routing.
- Firewalling: Configure NAT and firewall rules.
- VPNs: Set up site-to-site and client-to-site MFA VPNs.
- Wireless: Manage SSIDs, RADIUS authentication, and heat-mapping.
- DNS: Troubleshoot external MX/SPF/DKIM and internal scavenging.
Server and Cloud Administration
- Windows Server: Build from scratch and manage roles/features and event logs.
- Active Directory: Manage GPOs and OUs and troubleshoot replication.
- M365 / Google Workspace: Handle tenant setup, licensing, and mail flow rules.
- Virtualization: Manage resources and snapshots in VMware and Hyper-V.
- Backups: Configure and execute bare metal restores and granular file restores.
Support and Security
- Hardware: Perform RAID array swaps/rebuilds and update server BIOS.
- Endpoint Security: Deploy and manage EDR/XDR and remediate infected hosts.
- App Support: Customize Office Suite and troubleshoot legacy SQL applications.

- Time Entry: Can you consistently account for 9 hours of daily activity (billing/admin)? YES / NO

Role Details
- Location: Colorado Springs, CO (onsite)
- Salary: USD 68,962 - 83,051 per year
- Minimum Experience: 2 years
