Job Description
L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Lead, Cloud Software Engineer to guide the design, development, and deployment of cloud-native applications and microservices. This onsite role based in Melbourne, FL sits within an Agile environment, coordinating across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud to align technical delivery with program objectives. The position combines hands-on development with architectural leadership to build scalable, reliable cloud systems.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, development, and integration of cloud software within an Agile framework, building cloud-native applications and configuring deployment environments to enable end-to-end integration between cloud and non-cloud components.
- Translate program requirements and business roadmaps into cloud solutions that satisfy both technical and strategic goals.
- Collaborate with development teams and customers to review designs and estimates, identifying risks, assumptions, and constraints.
- Apply DevOps principles to establish and continually improve automated build, test, and deployment pipelines for the applications.
- Provide operational support to ensure high availability and adherence to service-level agreements.
- Hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying microservices in Kubernetes-based environments such as EKS and OpenShift.
- Knowledge of microservice architectural patterns.
- Work in cloud environments with a focus on containerized workloads, databases, and object storage.
- Develop scalable, highly available enterprise systems intended for cloud deployment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA public trust clearance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with at least six to nine years of software experience.
- Graduate degree with at least four to seven years of software experience.
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 to 12 years of software experience.
