Lead Software Engineer - Remote or Hybrid

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance full-stack applications using Java and contemporary frameworks
• Contribute code directly and help deliver key components and complex features
• Investigate production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive timely remediation
• Support production systems, safeguard stability, and improve reliability and performance
• Assess existing applications and propose improvements for scalability, maintainability, and performance
• Lead system design discussions and ensure adherence to architectural principles and best practices
• Mentor team members on technical challenges, debugging approaches, and implementation strategies
• Conduct code reviews and uphold coding standards, testing practices, and quality guidelines
• Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, and architecture teams
• Foster continuous improvement by adopting DevOps, CI/CD, and automation
• Leverage AI-assisted tools for code generation and test automation to boost productivity
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities, including APIs and models, into applicable applications
• Identify opportunities to apply AI for automation, monitoring, and intelligent decisioning within the platform

Requirements

• 12+ years in software engineering with substantial hands-on development experience
• At least 5 years building cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Minimum 5 years of full-stack development with Angular or React
• 5+ years working with SQL and NoSQL databases, including performance optimization
• 5+ years implementing CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and modern tooling
• Proven ability to troubleshoot production incidents and provide ongoing application support
• Proven track record of driving improvements in system design, performance, and reliability
• Experience balancing feature development, production support, and continuous improvement efforts
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, REST APIs, and general system design
• Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture
• Proven ability to promote AI-driven engineering practices within teams
