Job Description
Overview
Butler America Telecom seeks a capable Outside Plant (OSP) Engineer with hands-on experience with Lumen, CenturyLink, or BrightSpeed. The role centers on designing, planning, and supervising the construction of OSP infrastructure, while partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and engineer OSP networks including fiber optic, copper, and coaxial cable systems
- Perform field surveys, site walks, and feasibility studies to determine optimal routes for deployments
- Prepare and review engineering plans, CAD drawings, and technical specifications
- Oversee construction schedules and budgets, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
- Coordinate with project managers, vendors, and contractors to meet project milestones
- Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure OSP installations meet company and client standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field preferred
- Three or more years of experience in OSP engineering with Lumen, CenturyLink, or BrightSpeed
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, and other OSP design software
- Strong understanding of permitting, right-of-way, and utility coordination processes
- Excellent problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail
Compensation and Benefits
Pay: $50,174.00 - $100,000.00 per year
