Job Description

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Principal EMI/EMC Engineer to support the Power & Controls EMI group in Windsor Locks, CT (onsite). In this role, you will help ensure aerospace electronics meet applicable EMI/EMC requirements through technical analysis, test planning, and clear communication of findings to internal and external stakeholders.

This position focuses on end-to-end EMI/EMC activities, from reviewing customer requirements and assessing compliance risk to developing test plans, supporting in-house EMI lab testing, and presenting results through reports and design reviews.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review customer EMI/EMC requirements and assess compliance or potential risks
  • Analyze existing and redesigned hardware for EMI/EMC performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to recommend design approaches for compliance
  • Develop EMI test plans and test procedures aligned with customer and industry standards, including RTCA/DO-160 and MIL-STD-461
  • Support in-house testing at the EMI lab and ensure tests are executed properly
  • Prepare EMI test reports for internal and external customers
  • Present EMI findings and recommendations during design reviews
  • Prepare and present slides for design reviews for internal and external customers

Requirements

  • Typically requires a STEM degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC principles, standards, and testing practices
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under the program/contract

Compensation

USD 107,500 - 204,500 per year.
