Senior Controls Engineer - Data Centers

E Tech Group is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer - Data Centers based in Salt Lake City, UT for an onsite role. In this position, you will support control system projects from design through deployment, testing, and ongoing maintenance across data centers and other client industries.

You will collaborate with project teams to develop and validate PLC, HMI, and SCADA program work, help with commissioning activities, and provide onsite or remote support while keeping management and customers informed on work status.

Responsibilities

• Support project execution across the full lifecycle, from design through implementation.
• Develop and modify design documentation including drawing packages, method of procedures, sequence of operations, and testing scripts.
• Conduct quality checks and perform bench testing of PLC, HMI, and SCADA programs.
• Provide onsite and remote support for commissioning, including system design changes.
• Coordinate with installation partners to monitor progress, support QA/QC installation, execute test procedures, document outcomes, and communicate observations to the team.
• Maintain flexibility in scheduling and travel as needed to support design, development, and start-up activities at client sites.
• Act as an ambassador for E Tech Group Core Values, emphasizing success for E Tech Group, its clients, and professional growth for associates.
• Provide frequent status updates to management and customers for ongoing work progress.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in the control system industry.
• Ability to work independently on projects and tasks using a highly organized, methodical approach.
• Understanding of control system network topologies.
• Instrumentation calibration and startup experience.
• Experience commissioning in “live” environments.
• Willingness to travel.

You May Have

• Experience with PLC or DDC controlled data center projects.
• Experience with AVEVA Wonderware, FactoryTalk View SE, OPC UA/DA, and A/B Rockwell or Schneider PLC's.
• Experience building management and HVAC control systems.
