Senior Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Electrical Engineer with 10 or more years of experience to lead engineering and design efforts on intricate heavy industrial projects. This is a senior, hands-on position that blends technical leadership with cross discipline coordination and active client engagement throughout the full project lifecycle.

What You’ll Do

• Lead electrical engineering and design activities for large scale heavy industrial projects.
• Apply the National Electrical Code to electrical distribution systems, equipment specifications, hazardous area classifications, grounding, and lighting design.
• Coordinate closely with mechanical, process, and other engineering disciplines to ensure complete and accurate project scope development.
• Review general arrangements, P&IDs, and process equipment lists to define electrical scope.
• Develop, finalize, and verify detailed electrical deliverables, including load lists and single-line diagrams, motor elementaries, electrical room layouts, grounding plans and details, lighting and power plans with raceway routing, and cable schedules and electrical equipment specifications.
• Integrate electrical design activities into overall project schedules and coordinate logic ties with other disciplines.
• Work directly with process equipment vendors to review documentation and identify electrical design requirements.
• Travel to client sites as needed to gather field information and collaborate with client electrical counterparts.

Who They’re Looking For

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Ability to obtain PE registration is required.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant electrical engineering experience, with a strong emphasis on consulting engineering.
• Extensive experience leading electrical project teams, including engineers and designers.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Analytical, detail-oriented thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience mentoring and developing other electrical engineers.

• Pay: $120,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year.
• Education: Bachelor's degree required.
