Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Based onsite in Greenville, South Carolina, this Senior Electrical Design Engineer role leads electrical engineering and design efforts on large-scale heavy industrial projects. It is a hands-on, senior position that blends technical leadership with cross-disciplinary coordination and client-facing responsibilities across the full project lifecycle. A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience are required, with eligibility to obtain PE licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering and design activities for large-scale heavy industrial projects
• Apply the National Electrical Code (NEC) to electrical distribution systems, equipment specifications, hazardous area classifications, grounding, and lighting design
• Coordinate closely with mechanical, process, and other engineering disciplines to ensure complete and accurate project scope development
• Review general arrangements, P&IDs, and process equipment lists to define electrical scope
• Develop load lists and single-line diagrams
• Prepare motor elementaries
• Design electrical room layouts
• Create grounding plans and details
• Produce lighting and power plans with raceway routing
• Prepare cable schedules and electrical equipment specifications
• Integrate electrical design activities into overall project schedules and coordinate logic ties with other disciplines
• Work directly with process equipment vendors to review documentation and identify electrical design requirements
• Travel to client sites as needed to gather field information and collaborate with client electrical counterparts

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• Eligibility to obtain PE registration is required
• Minimum 10 years of relevant electrical engineering experience with a strong emphasis on consulting engineering
• Extensive experience leading electrical project teams, including engineers and designers
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Analytical, detail-oriented thinker with strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience mentoring and developing other electrical engineers
