Job Description

Senior Electrical Design Engineer role at Interface Engineering, an employee-owned firm, leading MEP electrical design across Healthcare, Education, Commercial, Biotech, Transportation and more from a hybrid Washington, DC environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex MEP electrical design projects across multiple sectors including healthcare, education, commercial, biotech, transportation, and more.
  • Create innovative and sophisticated electrical systems aligned with project goals.
  • Consult with clients to present concepts, review progress, and refine design deliverables.
  • Guide and mentor design staff and junior engineers to ensure quality outcomes.
  • Support overall project management efforts for MEP team leaders to ensure timely, on-budget delivery.

Requirements

  • BSEE degree required.
  • 7+ years of experience in MEP design or consulting.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Experience leading teams and managing projects in the MEP space.
  • Healthcare building design experience with HCAI compliance.
  • High-energy client service orientation with strong communication skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building codes and standards.
  • Thorough understanding of design systems for electrical engineering.
