Job Description
Collins Aerospace SPS seeks a Senior Software Engineer - Embedded Communications in Cedar Rapids, IA (onsite) with a salary range of USD 86,800 - 165,200 per year.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate within a dynamic cross-functional software team to translate System Requirements into Software Requirements and UML/SysML models for a large-scale program.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and interns alongside Senior and Principal Software Engineers, fostering professional growth.
- Provide direct technical support to stakeholders, addressing questions, troubleshooting issues, and delivering solutions to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with team members across domains to maintain and enhance software design and code, aligning with customer requirements and certification standards.
- Own the creation of high-quality software builds in an integrated test environment, ensuring performance and reliability through thorough testing and validation.
Requirements
- Experience with Embedded Development using object oriented design.
- Experience with development toolsets such as Jira, Subversion or Git, and version management processes.
- Active and transferable SECRET clearance required prior to start date; U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.
- Education: a STEM degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
