Structural Engineer

Evolution Drafting offers a remote Structural Engineering role with a flexible schedule and paid time off. This position is built around professional review and collaboration, with opportunities to share expertise through training and quality oversight for a drafting and design team. Work is available in multiple arrangements, including full-time, part-time, contract, and temp-to-hire, with an 8 hour shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Review and stamp structural drawings for residential and light commercial projects.
• Train and mentor the drafting/design team on structural standards, including load paths and detailing.
• Collaborate with designers to ensure structural solutions align with design intent and meet code requirements.
• Oversee quality control for structural work and associated documentation.
• Provide input during the design and permitting process, including resolving technical questions.
• Conduct site inspections when necessary.

Requirements

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Structural (or Civil with a structural emphasis).
• Licensure in multiple states or willingness to expand licensure over time.
• Experience with residential and light commercial projects, including wood framing, steel, and concrete.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software.
• Strong understanding of building codes and structural design principles.
• Clear communication skills and ability to teach or guide a team.
