Switchgear Power System Engineer

C&C Power, Inc. is seeking a skilled Switchgear Power System Engineer to design and sustain the AC switchgear product line, with a focus on UL891 switchgear and AC distribution products. This onsite role operates in Carol Stream, IL and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure compliant, manufacturable designs.

Role overview

The engineer will design and continuously support the AC switchgear portfolio, ensuring alignment with current codes and industry practices while supporting Production, Sales, and other departments.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and design new UL891 switchgear and AC distribution products.
• Prepare and update as-built production drawings to reflect changes.
• Provide technical support to Production, Sales, and related teams.
• Create fabrication drawings for parts and assemblies.
• Stay current with NEC, NFPA, IFC, and other applicable codes.
• Track advancements in manufacturing technologies and component options used in production.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience designing UL891 switchgear and power systems.
• Bachelor of Science degree in a technical area of study preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCad and Solidworks.
• Knowledge of current UL 891 and NEC standards.
• Understanding of design techniques and principles involved in production drawings and 2D/3D modeling.
• Strong understanding of electrical circuits.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
