Electronics/Hardware Engineer
Job Description
Autonomi Robotics is hiring an onsite Electronics/Hardware Engineer in Orlando to own hardware compliance and help take the next AMR design cycle from pre-compliance through certified production.
Responsibilities
- Drive UL 3300 certification readiness, including adjacent standards: UL 62368-1, ISO 13849, and IEC 61000-4 series
- Coordinate certification work with the test lab (Intertek/ETL) and manage readiness activities leading into formal testing
- Own EMI/RF pre-compliance testing using in-house lab gear (including Siglent SSA3021X and a Tekbox probe set) ahead of chamber time
- Evaluate and qualify RF/cellular modules for FCC compliance, including sourcing and validating replacement components impacted by DoD/Covered List restrictions
- Reverse-engineer and document third-party hardware (for example: service boards and SoC head units) to improve BOM/schematic clarity and support vendor negotiations
- Support PCB design activities, including layout review and rework across navigation, power/CAN, and HMI subsystems
- Partner with contract manufacturers and hardware consultants to move designs from prototype to certified production
- Maintain and update compliance documentation and track standards across the certification roadmap
Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of hardware design and product compliance, ideally for a certified electromechanical or robotics product
- Direct experience with UL certification processes (UL 3300, UL 62368-1, or similar), including taking a product through a test lab
- Working knowledge of FCC Part 15 plus EMI/EMC pre-compliance testing
- Comfort with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium preferred)
- Experience with embedded systems (ARM/STM32/GD32-class MCUs) and communications protocols: UART, CAN, I2C
- Bonus: cellular/RF module integration and qualification (Quectel, Telit, u-blox, etc.)
- Bonus: robotics, medical device, or safety-critical hardware background, plus Chinese (Mandarin) conversational ability
- Can speak English and Mandarin with at least a B1 (intermediate) level
