Job Description

The Senior Project Electrical Engineer operates on the MEP team in White Plains, NY, overseeing project management and the design of building power, lighting, communications, and security systems, while coordinating with in-house and outside teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems including power distribution, standby power generation, lighting, communication, fire alarm, and security systems.
  • Supervise a group of Electrical Engineers in project design and development tasks, including drawings, calculations, cost estimates, and specifications; respond to client questions and comments, review contractor submittals, and provide clarifications during construction.
  • Review electrical department design documents for completeness and ensure personnel adhere to established industry and company standards.
  • Assist in the development of company quality standards and procedures.
  • Collaborate with management and electrical department leadership to develop short- and long-range manpower and production plans to meet project objectives.
  • Support business development initiatives to pursue new projects, including participation in client presentations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
  • 7+ years of experience with a consulting engineering firm designing building power, lighting, communication, and security systems.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer required.
  • Thorough understanding of the architectural and engineering industry, including federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to the field.
  • LEED Accreditation and working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and Easy Power desired.
  • Experience with HVAC and plumbing systems is a plus.
  • Experience using Outlook and Microsoft Office or similar software.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
