Senior Structural Engineer

Kapur & Associates invites applications for a Senior Structural Engineer to lead transportation design initiatives from the Milwaukee, Wisconsin office. The role emphasizes growing our transportation design services and requires a highly motivated, collaborative, proactive professional who delivers high quality work.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects by defining scope and budget, preparing technical proposals and interview materials, participating in contract negotiations, communicating with clients, and ensuring successful delivery to the client's satisfaction.
• Perform technical discipline tasks including analysis, reports, design, and specifications.
• Review and manage design related calculations, reports, plans, and specifications.
• Oversee project staffing, including mentoring, recruitment, development, retention, and succession planning; establish staff reporting plans; support performance evaluations.
• Coordinate with internal project teams and clients to address design related issues or concerns.
• Contribute to business development efforts by building client relationships.
• Support the growth of the structures group through recruitment, hiring, and staff development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 10 years of relevant experience
• Four years of successful management of engineering projects
• Familiarity with AASHTO Bridge Design Specifications
• Interest in mentoring junior staff
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Strong reputation and client relationships in the transportation market
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
