Structural Engineer
Job Description
The Structural Engineer role based in Nashville, Tennessee, centers on a blend of office design work and field responsibilities on active construction sites, with travel required to support projects.
Responsibilities
- Act as the engineer of record representative during construction for projects after the initial design is complete.
- Review shop drawings provided by contractors to ensure alignment with design intent.
- Prepare and issue responses to contractor RFIs in a timely and clear manner.
- Procure testing and inspection services and present informed recommendations to owners.
- Lead pre-construction meetings with contractors, architects, and testing and inspection agencies to review notes and requirements for concrete, structural steel, and masonry work.
- Conduct on-site observations to verify conformance with contract documents and project specifications.
- Provide reconnaissance assessments of existing structures as part of the structural design process.
- Travel to project sites, averaging 1 to 2 nights per week.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the United States.
- Strong motivation with a solid technical background and excellent communication skills.

Schedule
- Travel averages 1 to 2 nights per week
- In-office, Monday through Friday
- Flexible schedule with preferred hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm; Friday, 7:30 am to 2:30 pm
