Technical Support Engineer, Distributed Infrastructure (D-IT)

Technical Support Engineer in Eaton's Distributed Infrastructure team, a hybrid role located within 50 miles of Woodridge, IL, delivering post-sales technical support for power protection and data center products.

Responsibilities

• Provide post-sales technical support to customers by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving issues during and after installation across a broad range of power protection and data center products.
• Maintain precise documentation of service requests and the steps taken to troubleshoot problems.
• Clearly communicate product value propositions and product line strategies to customers and internal teams.
• Support the team in refining business processes and enhancing electronic tools used for service delivery.
• Participate on special teams and contribute to projects that improve team performance and customer satisfaction.
• Help the team meet or surpass metrics and tackle complex tasks using diverse resources.
• Leverage available information to deliver professional, informed customer support.
• Work rotating 8-hour shifts within the window of 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in the electrical industry.
• Relocation assistance is not offered; candidates must reside within 50 miles of Woodridge, IL.
• No immigration sponsorship or support is provided for this position (no CPT, OPT, STEM OPT, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap, O-1, E-3, TN, I-485 portability, etc.).
• Experience with test equipment such as multimeters, ammeters, and network sniffers.
• Knowledge or experience with Linux operating systems.
• Prior customer-facing experience.
