Trailer Structural Design Engineer

Based in Albemarle, North Carolina, Kraftsman, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Trailer Structural Design Engineer to own the design and development of its trailer structures. This onsite, senior role centers on hands-on engineering with Autodesk Inventor, guiding new products from concept through production while refining existing designs for performance and manufacturability. You will collaborate directly with plant leadership and fabrication teams to turn ideas into reality.

Responsibilities

• Design and refine trailer frames and structural components using Autodesk Inventor
• Modify and improve existing designs to enhance performance and manufacturability
• Lead new product development from concept through production launch
• Collaborate closely with plant leadership and fabrication teams
• Develop pilot builds and finalize designs for full production implementation
• Assist or lead the creation of engineering department structure and workflows

Requirements

• 5+ years of practical engineering or design experience (8+ years preferred)
• Strong structural and mechanical design capabilities
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, with expert-level considered a strong plus
• Self-starter with the ability to manage projects independently
