Responsibilities
- Lead and support Maine transportation projects through scoping, preliminary and final design, PS&E, bid support, and construction phase services
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, designers, and external stakeholders to deliver high quality projects
- Participate in and lead milestone reviews and coordination meetings with MaineDOT and municipal partners
- Assist with workload planning, scheduling, and technical task delegation in coordination with project managers
- Serve as a primary internal resource for MaineDOT standards, specifications, and project delivery requirements
- Lead and support QA/QC efforts, including reviewing plans, specifications, estimates, and technical reports
- Ensure compliance with MaineDOT, AASHTO, and applicable federal and municipal requirements
- Support proposal development, interviews, and strategic pursuits for MaineDOT and Maine Municipal work
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineers and designers
- Contribute to internal training and the ongoing development of McClure’s Maine transportation practice
- Engage with industry organizations in Maine and New England to support professional development and relationship building
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (Required)
- 7 to 10+ years of professional transportation engineering experience (Required)
- Professional Engineer license in the State of Maine or the ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe (Required)
- Experience delivering transportation infrastructure projects in Maine (Required)
- Strong proficiency with Bentley OpenRoads and related Bentley transportation design products (Required)
- Demonstrated experience leading projects through multiple design phases (Required)
- Solid understanding of QA/QC procedures and professional liability considerations (Required)
- Proven ability to mentor and develop junior engineers (Required)
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills (Required)
- Ability to manage priorities across multiple projects and communicate complex technical information effectively (Required)
