Job Description
Opal Fuels seeks an Electrical Project Engineer to lead electrical engineering across the full lifecycle of CNG and RNG facilities, delivering engineering, design, and drafting support. This onsite role in Rancho Cucamonga, CA provides electrical leadership while coordinating with clients, EPC partners, and cross-functional teams to ensure safe, compliant, and constructible designs.

Salary
The anticipated compensation range is $120,000–$140,000 per year, with bonus eligibility for the role. The actual salary offered will reflect experience, skills, market conditions, and geographic location.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an ABET-accredited university.
- 7+ years of experience in industrial, energy, or gas processing electrical engineering.
- Experience leading engineering/design teams, field personnel, and vendors.
- PE License preferred.
- Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and applicable industry codes.
- Understanding industrial drafting standards, symbols, process, instrumentation, and wiring diagrams.
- Proficient in AutoCAD; able to revise and maintain electrical drawings.
- Experience with industrial electrical systems, including power distribution, controls, and instrumentation.
- Experienced in developing specifications for the design and fabrication of mechanical plant processes.
- Experienced in evaluation of customer specifications, with aptitude to communicate directly with customers.
- Strong communicator with ability to interface directly with customers and cross-functional teams.
- Collaborative, team-oriented professional with a focus on schedule, quality, and results.
- Experienced in quality review of fabricated and assembled equipment, cost review and control.
- Must be able to achieve positive results in safety, quality, productivity, cost, and employee relations.
- Must be able to comprehend the interdependence of all operations in the production process and make decisions that lead to the efficient use of available resources while maintaining project schedule.
- Strong organizational, documentation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Dependable, highly motivated, and self-directed; able to work effectively with little supervision.
- Good oral and written skills at all levels of internal and external organizations.
- Hands-on engineer who can delegate and drive processes efficiently.
- Strong leadership skills and a desire to train and develop others.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of other disciplines: electrical, controls, process engineering, civil structural, and civil land.
- Current and valid driver's license without any restrictions.

Work Hours and Arrangements
- Standard Monday - Friday, first shift (exempt position); after-hours/weekend calls may be required as business needs demand.
- Onsite work five days a week with up to 25% travel.
Physical Requirements
The role requires both office-based and field/site work. It involves extended periods of sitting and computer use, with frequent manual operations like typing. The candidate must be able to read and interpret reports, schedules, drawings, and digital displays. Periodic standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, and stooping are required.
