Job Description

Based at Fort Belvoir in Virginia, this General Engineer role supports the Defense Logistics Agency with a focus on energy management and enterprise risk management program activities. The position involves policy and reporting duties for DLA sites, maintaining an enterprise energy project database, and delivering technical guidance on energy, water, resilience, and climate topics in alignment with DoD initiatives.

  • Location: Fort Belvoir, VA (onsite)
  • Salary: USD 70,623 - 133,142 per year
  • Minimum Experience: 1 year
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in professional engineering (ABET-accredited program or equivalent)

Responsibilities

  • Provide energy management support to the ERM Program Manager for policy and reporting requirements across DLA sites.
  • Monitor compliance with DoD initiatives, strategies, goals, mission and vision statements, Executive Orders, and federal statutes.
  • Maintain an enterprise-wide energy project database, including ESPC and UESC data, and track the status of each DLA Installation Energy and Water Plan (IEWP).
  • Prepare energy scorecards, assemble the agency's energy-related Select and Native Programming budget exhibits, and compile the Annual Energy Management Report.
  • Offer technical guidance to Major Subordinate Commands on energy, water, resilience, and climate topics.
  • Review project plans, design criteria, schedules, design budgets, and project requirements at initiation.
  • Ensure projects comply with applicable DLA, DoD, and executive goals, standards, and mandates.
  • Track construction and repair project progress and ensure adherence to ASHRAE, Deep Energy Retrofit, and LEED goals.
  • Review SRM projects, provide engineering advice, and offer technical assistance.
