IT Support Engineer
Job Description
The role is an L2 IT Support Engineer serving an MSP/MSSP in the Tampa Bay area, combining in-office work with on-site client engagements. Focus areas include desktop, server, network, and cloud support, ongoing maintenance, and project-driven tasks.
Responsibilities
- Identify and resolve end-user, network, and software issues
- Document resolution steps and outcomes
- Escalate complex problems to senior engineers as needed
- Assist clients with installing, configuring, and maintaining workstations, peripherals, and software
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance checks
- Diagnose system emergencies and pursue timely resolution
- Create new user profiles and install required software
- Collaborate with vendor representatives to resolve software and hardware issues
- Install or upgrade Microsoft operating systems
- Adhere to defined processes and standards
- Review security parameters with clients and recommend changes in line with our standards
- Contribute to projects such as system migrations, high-availability virtual server configurations, server and firewall installations, VPN tunnel configurations, SAN setups, and related initiatives
- Participate in project planning and solution delivery
Requirements
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure
- Ability to learn and retain new technology skills and troubleshooting methods
- Team-oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Strong multitasking and prioritization abilities for client issues
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience with Windows products, VPNs, performance issues, peripherals, and M365
- Successful completion of designated Microsoft Certifications
- 3+ years of solid Windows experience
- Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- MSP-specific experience is required
