Job Description

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Specialty Software Engineer, Full stack Developer, to support the Workplace Service Delivery (WSD) platform and related workplace technology initiatives. In this hybrid role based in Charlotte, NC, you will act as a liaison across product, engineering, and operational partners to drive product strategy, roadmap execution, requirements management, testing, and production support.

This position focuses on end-to-end ownership of assigned WSD capabilities, combining strong technical leadership with proactive risk identification and clear visibility into application health and delivery performance.

Responsibilities

  • Own assigned WSD capabilities end-to-end, aligning business objectives, technology strategy, and execution
  • Partner with engineering, architecture, infrastructure, security, and vendor teams using strong technical acumen
  • Identify delivery, technical, operational, and dependency risks early to prevent impacts to timelines or business operations
  • Maintain visibility into application health, production issues, integration performance, technical debt, and upcoming platform changes
  • Drive resolution of complex technical and business challenges by facilitating collaboration across multiple teams
  • Provide leadership during incidents, production support events, and major releases, including triage, root-cause analysis, prioritization, and communication
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, supportable, and secure technical solutions
  • Support quality outcomes through solution reviews, test planning, validation activities, release readiness assessments, and post-implementation reviews
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and platform optimization
  • Look ahead to roadmap commitments, capacity constraints, dependency risks, compliance requirements, and future business needs
  • Build relationships with product owners, business stakeholders, technology teams, operations partners, and vendors to support successful delivery outcomes
  • Champion operational excellence using data-driven decision making, service metrics, adoption monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Mentor less experienced software engineers and collaborate across all levels, including managers
  • Lead the team to achieve objectives and partner effectively with production support and platform engineering teams

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience (or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education)
  • 5+ years hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot
  • 4+ years SQL Server development experience, including complex queries and stored procedures
  • 3+ years experience with software and system architecture
  • 2+ years front-end development experience using Angular and/or React
  • 1+ years experience in AI-related development
