Job Description

Civan Lasers Inc offers a hands-on, customer-focused role centered on leading service, installation, commissioning, training, and ongoing post-installation support for laser welding systems. This onsite position is based in Greenfield, Indiana, with frequent travel across North America and time in the application lab when not in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee installation, startup, commissioning, and customer acceptance of laser welding systems.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for service and post-installation support.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, optical, controls, and process-related issues in the field and remotely.
  • Provide training on safe operation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and best practices for customers.
  • Manage service center operations, including equipment and inventory.
  • Coordinate the end-to-end installation process with thorough planning before, during, and after installation to ensure smooth execution.
  • Document service activity and relay field feedback to engineering and applications teams.
  • Contribute to the development of technical service standards.
  • Support laser operation, demonstrations, and customer visits in the application lab when not traveling.
  • Represent the company professionally at customer sites and foster strong customer relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in optics, photonics, laser engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field; equivalent practical experience may also be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of applicable experience in relevant roles.
  • Experience installing, integrating, commissioning, and/or supporting complex industrial systems in customer environments.
  • Background in technical service, field service, installation, and/or customer support engineering.
  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills with complex industrial equipment and technical systems.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently across North America.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Commitment to safe work practices in industrial environments.
