Job Description
Wilson Engineering is seeking a mid to senior Electrical Engineer to join its Washington-based team. The role centers on electrical and control systems design for municipal, industrial, and commercial projects, with hybrid remote options available for eligible Washington residents. The position offers a salary range of USD 120,000 to 160,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Develop electrical and control system designs, drawings, and specifications for municipal, industrial, and commercial projects.
- Perform conceptual and detailed design calculations and analyses.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports and supporting documentation.
- Produce construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Generate written reports, analyses, and studies for various electrical and control system applications.
- Manage projects, including scheduling and budget control.
- Contribute to the development of proposals for new projects.
- Support the strengthening of new and existing client relationships.
- Provide peer review for other company projects and help advance company standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (minimum four years).
- Washington State PE license is required.
- 5 to 10+ years of experience in electrical and/or control systems engineering design.
- Experience designing wastewater, stormwater, transportation, drinking water, and treatment systems is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of AC power systems design, including motor control circuits, power distribution, load calculations, panel schedules, voltage drop, and one-line diagrams.
- DC power system design for control and instrumentation circuits (e.g., measurement of flow, pressure, level, and temperature).
- Experience with electrical system modeling and Easypower software.
- Illumination system design experience, knowledge of WSDOT requirements, and experience with AGI32 lighting modeling software.
- Familiarity with NEC, WAC, NFPA, and other applicable codes.
- Ability to read and develop relay logic wiring diagrams.
- Strong technical writing skills and proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
- Experience with AutoCAD for electrical engineering drawing development.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
