OSP Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a qualified outside plant (OSP) engineer with experience at Lumen, CenturyLink, or BrightSpeed. The role involves designing, planning, and supervising the construction of outside plant infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and engineer OSP network infrastructure including fiber optic, copper, and coaxial cabling.
• Conduct field surveys, site inspections, and feasibility studies to determine optimal routing for deployments.
• Prepare and review engineering plans, CAD drawings, and technical specifications.
• Oversee construction schedules, budgets, and adherence to industry standards and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, vendors, and contractors to achieve project milestones.
• Perform quality assurance to ensure all OSP installations meet company and client standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of OSP engineering experience with Lumen, CenturyLink, or BrightSpeed.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, GIS, and other OSP design software tools.
• Strong knowledge of permitting, right-of-way, and utility coordination processes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
